Enable Face Recognition on Samsung Galaxy S23 in Canada
Unlock your Samsung Galaxy S23 faster and more securely in Canada by enabling Face Recognition. This biometric feature uses the front camera to identify you instantly — no need to enter a PIN or fingerprint every time.
Step 1: Open Biometrics Settings
Go to Settings > Security and Privacy > Biometrics. Select Face Recognition to begin setup. If prompted, enter your current screen lock PIN or pattern.
Step 2: Register Your Face
Hold your Galaxy S23 at eye level and follow the on-screen circle to scan your face. Ensure you’re in a well-lit area for the best results. Once completed, your facial data will be securely stored on the device.
Step 3: Enable Faster Recognition
Toggle on Faster Recognition if you prefer quicker unlocking speeds. For better accuracy, keep Require Open Eyes enabled to ensure your phone only unlocks when you’re looking at it.
Step 4: Allow Face Unlock for Apps and Payments
You can also use your face to unlock apps or verify Samsung Pay transactions. Under Face Recognition settings, enable Use Face for App Lock & Payments.
Step 5: Manage or Remove Face Data
If you change your appearance or want to reset recognition, go to the same menu and tap Remove Face Data. Then re-register your face following the same steps above.

OnePlus Tip
For the best results in low light, enable Bright Screen Mode in Face Recognition settings. It temporarily increases screen brightness to illuminate your face, ensuring faster detection even in dark environments.
