Fix Samsung Galaxy S24 Not Charging on Verizon
If your Samsung Galaxy S24 isn’t charging properly on Verizon in the United States, the issue could be due to software glitches, cable faults, or power management settings. Follow these quick steps to identify and fix the problem safely.
Step 1: Inspect Cable and Charger
Check if the USB-C cable or wall adapter is damaged. Try using an official Samsung charger or another certified cable. Avoid third-party accessories that may not support fast charging on Verizon devices.
Step 2: Clean the Charging Port
Dust or lint in the port can block proper contact. Gently clean the charging port using a soft brush or compressed air. Never insert sharp metal objects inside the port.
Step 3: Reboot or Force Restart
Temporary software bugs can interrupt charging. Press and hold both the Power and Volume Down buttons for 10–15 seconds to perform a force restart. Then reconnect your charger.
Step 4: Check Battery Settings
Open Settings > Battery and Device Care > Battery and ensure Protect Battery mode is off if you want full 100% charging. This feature limits charge to 85% for battery health, which can be mistaken for a charging issue.
Step 5: Try Safe Mode
Some apps may interfere with power management. Boot into Safe Mode by pressing and holding Power > Power Off > Safe Mode. If charging works here, uninstall any recently added apps.
Step 6: Check for Software Updates
Go to Settings > Software Update > Download and Install. Verizon often releases firmware updates that fix charging compatibility or overheating issues.

OnePlus Tip
If wireless charging isn’t working either, remove your phone case and try placing the S24 directly on the charger. Metal cases or magnetic rings can block the charging coil and prevent wireless power transfer.
