Recover Deleted Photos on Samsung Galaxy Without Samsung Cloud
If you’ve accidentally deleted pictures on your Samsung Galaxy and don’t use Samsung Cloud, don’t worry — there are still multiple ways to recover your lost photos. Here’s how to restore images directly from your device or Google services without cloud backup.
Step 1: Check the Recycle Bin in Samsung Gallery
Open the Gallery app > Menu > Recycle Bin. Recently deleted photos remain here for up to 30 days. Tap and hold any photo, then select Restore to recover it instantly.
Step 2: Restore from Google Photos
If you use Google Photos, open the app and go to Library > Trash. Deleted items stay there for 60 days. Select the photos you want and tap Restore — they’ll reappear in both Google Photos and your Gallery app.
Step 3: Use My Files App
Sometimes photos moved to the Trash folder in the My Files app can be recovered. Open My Files > Trash and tap Restore to bring your deleted media back.
Step 4: Check Your SD Card or External Storage
If your Galaxy device supports SD cards, connect it to a PC and use recovery software such as Recuva or DiskDigger to scan for deleted files. These tools can often retrieve images even after system resets.
Step 5: Enable Auto Backup for the Future
To avoid losing photos again, enable automatic backup in Google Photos or the Samsung Wallet app. This ensures your media is always synced securely online — even if Samsung Cloud isn’t active.

OnePlus Tip
If you regularly clear your phone’s storage, avoid using “Device Care > Clean Now” immediately after deletion — it can permanently remove recoverable photo cache before you attempt restoration.
