Auto Enable Low Power Mode on iOS 18 Devices

Low Power Mode helps extend battery life by reducing background activity and performance. On iOS 18, you can set your iPhone to automatically enable Low Power Mode based on battery level. Here’s how to do it step by step.

1. Open Battery Settings

  1. Go to Settings → Battery.

  2. You’ll see Low Power Mode; normally it’s manual, but automation allows it to trigger automatically.

2. Set Up Automation via Shortcuts

  1. Open the Shortcuts app on your iPhone.

  2. Tap Automation → Create Personal Automation → Battery Level.

  3. Drag the slider to the battery percentage you want Low Power Mode to start (e.g., 20%).

  4. Tap Next → Add Action → Set Low Power Mode → Turn On.

  5. Disable Ask Before Running for seamless activation.

  6. Tap Done to save the automation.

3. Test the Automation

  • Reduce your battery below the set threshold and see if Low Power Mode turns on automatically.

  • Adjust the threshold if needed via the Shortcuts automation.

4. Optional: Auto Turn Off

  • You can create another automation to turn off Low Power Mode when battery rises above a certain percentage.

  • This ensures your iPhone returns to normal performance automatically.

OnePlus Tip

Automatic Low Power Mode is ideal for busy days or outdoor use. Pair it with Optimized Battery Charging (Settings → Battery → Battery Health) to maximize battery lifespan on iOS 18 devices.
