Enable Kids Mode on Samsung Galaxy in the US

Enable Kids Mode on Samsung Galaxy to create a safe and engaging space for children to play, learn, and explore. With Samsung Kids, parents in the US and Canada can set screen time limits, block inappropriate apps, and monitor their child’s activity — all directly from their Galaxy device.

Step 1: Open Samsung Kids

Swipe down from the top of your screen and tap the Quick Panel. Look for the Samsung Kids icon (a colorful child’s face). If it’s not visible, tap the + icon to add it. Then tap it to launch Kids Mode for the first time.

Step 2: Set Up a Parent PIN

When you first open Samsung Kids, you’ll be prompted to create a 4-digit PIN. This protects the Kids Mode environment and ensures only adults can exit or change settings.

Step 3: Add or Remove Apps

In the Parental Controls section, you can manage which apps your child can access. Tap + Add Apps to include child-friendly options like Samsung Kids Camera, Drawing, or Play Store apps suitable for children.

Step 4: Manage Screen Time and Usage

Tap the Parental Controls icon in the Samsung Kids main menu, then select Daily Playtime Limit to set screen time restrictions. You can also check Activity Reports to see how much time your child spends on each app.

Step 5: Customize Themes and Avatars

Samsung Kids allows you to personalize the experience with fun avatars and backgrounds. Tap Settings > Customize Samsung Kids to change the theme, wallpapers, and profile icons to make it more engaging for your child.

Step 6: Set Content Restrictions

For added safety, open Settings > Digital Wellbeing & Parental Controls and adjust app permissions and web content filters. This prevents access to apps and sites outside the Samsung Kids environment.

Step 7: Exit Kids Mode Safely

To exit, tap the menu in the top corner, select Close Samsung Kids, and enter your PIN. This ensures your child cannot access the regular phone interface accidentally.

OnePlus Tip

Turn on Kids Mode before handing over your phone — it locks down notifications, prevents accidental app purchases, and keeps your child safely within a controlled environment. Perfect for peace of mind during family trips or study time.
