Fix Frequent App Crashes on Samsung Galaxy
If apps keep crashing or freezing on your Samsung Galaxy, the issue is usually related to cached data, outdated versions, or background conflicts. Follow these steps to fix frequent app crashes without losing important data.
Step 1: Restart Your Device
Hold the Power button and select Restart. This clears temporary processes that might be causing apps to misbehave.
Step 2: Update the Problematic App
Open the Galaxy Store or Google Play Store, search for the crashing app, and tap Update. Many crashes occur due to outdated app versions not optimized for the latest firmware.
Step 3: Clear App Cache and Data
Go to Settings > Apps, select the crashing app, then tap Storage > Clear Cache. If the issue continues, tap Clear Data to reset the app (you may need to sign in again).
Step 4: Check for System Updates
Navigate to Settings > Software Update and install any pending updates. Samsung often releases stability patches that fix app crash bugs after major Android updates.
Step 5: Boot into Safe Mode
Press and hold the Power button, then tap and hold Power off > Safe Mode. If the crashes stop, a third-party app is likely causing conflicts. Remove recently installed or updated apps.
Step 6: Reset App Preferences
Go to Settings > Apps, tap the three-dot menu, and select Reset App Preferences. This restores disabled permissions and background limits that can break app behavior.

OnePlus Tip
If multiple apps crash at once, open the Galaxy Store > Updates tab and update Android System WebView. This component affects how many apps load web content and is a common cause of widespread app failures.
