Recover Deleted Photos on Samsung Without Samsung Cloud
Accidentally deleted important pictures from your Galaxy phone? Don’t worry — you can recover deleted photos on Samsung even without using Samsung Cloud. This guide shows how to restore your media files using built-in features, Google Photos, and third-party recovery tools available in the United States and Canada.
Step 1: Check the Recycle Bin in Gallery
Go to Gallery > Menu > Recycle Bin. Deleted photos and videos remain here for 30 days before permanent deletion. Simply select the pictures you want to restore and tap Restore to recover them instantly.
Step 2: Restore from Google Photos Backup
If you’ve synced your device with Google Photos, open the Google Photos app, then go to Library > Trash. Select the photos you want to recover and tap Restore. They’ll reappear in your main photo library and file storage.
Step 3: Use My Files App for Hidden Media
Sometimes deleted or moved files are stored in hidden folders. Open My Files > Internal Storage > DCIM and check for folders like .thumbnails or Camera. You can unhide hidden files by tapping the More (⋮) icon and enabling Show Hidden Files.
Step 4: Try a Data Recovery Tool
If your photos aren’t in the recycle bin or Google Photos, use reliable third-party apps such as Tenorshare UltData or Dr.Fone Data Recovery. These tools can often restore recently deleted photos before the storage sectors are overwritten.
Step 5: Enable Automatic Backups Going Forward
To prevent future data loss, enable Google Photos Backup or use Smart Switch for local backups. You can explore cloud integration and backup methods in our detailed guide: Google Cloud Integration.
Step 6: Optimize Storage and File Organization
Regularly organizing your photos and removing duplicate files helps maintain performance. For tips on managing storage and display folders, check Screen & Tools.

OnePlus Tip
For best recovery results, stop using your device immediately after accidental deletion — new data can overwrite deleted photo sectors. Always enable cloud or Google Photos backup for continuous protection.
