Use Siri Shortcuts to Automate Daily iPhone Tasks
Siri Shortcuts in iOS 18 allows you to automate repetitive tasks on your iPhone, saving time and increasing productivity. From sending messages to adjusting settings, Shortcuts can handle a variety of daily routines.
Step 1: Open Shortcuts App
Launch the Shortcuts app on your iPhone. This app is pre-installed on iOS 18 and provides access to both suggested and custom shortcuts.
Step 2: Create a New Shortcut
Tap + to create a new shortcut. Choose actions like sending a message, playing music, or toggling system settings.
Step 3: Automate Routine Tasks
Select Automation at the bottom of the screen. Here you can set triggers such as time of day, location, or connecting to Wi-Fi, to run your shortcut automatically.
Step 4: Customize Actions
Add multiple actions to a single shortcut. For example, you can turn on Do Not Disturb, set brightness, and start playing a playlist—all with a single trigger.
Step 5: Test Your Shortcut
Run the shortcut manually first to ensure it works as expected. Make adjustments to actions or triggers if needed.
Step 6: Troubleshoot Automation Issues
If shortcuts aren’t running automatically, check that Ask Before Running is disabled and that iOS 18 has the necessary permissions.
