Block Spam Calls on Samsung Galaxy in the US
Tired of spam or robocalls interrupting your day? You can block spam calls on Samsung Galaxy in the US using built-in call protection features and your carrier’s spam filters. Whether you’re on Verizon, AT&T, or T-Mobile, Samsung’s Smart Call and carrier tools make it easy to stop unwanted callers automatically.
Step 1: Open the Phone App
Launch the Phone app and tap the three-dot menu in the upper-right corner. Select Settings to access your call management options.
Step 2: Enable Caller ID and Spam Protection
Toggle ON Caller ID and spam protection. Samsung’s Smart Call feature identifies suspicious numbers and automatically blocks known spam calls before they reach you.
Step 3: Report or Block Specific Numbers
When you receive an unwanted call, open your Recents list, tap the number, and select Block. You can also tap Report number to share it with Samsung’s spam detection database, improving protection for other users.
Step 4: Use Carrier Spam Blocking Tools
Most major US carriers offer advanced spam filtering options: • Verizon: Enable Call Filter in the My Verizon app. • AT&T: Use the ActiveArmor app to block nuisance calls. • T-Mobile: Turn on Scam Shield to identify and silence high-risk numbers.
These apps complement Samsung’s Smart Call for stronger call screening.
Step 5: Silence Unknown Callers
If you prefer to receive calls only from saved contacts, go to Settings > Sounds and Vibration > Do Not Disturb. Under Allowed calls, choose Contacts only. This ensures unknown or spam numbers go straight to voicemail.
Step 6: Manage Spam Texts Too
Open the Messages app, tap the three-dot menu, and select Settings > Block numbers and spam. Enable Spam protection to filter out unwanted SMS and promotional texts automatically.
Step 7: Keep Your System Updated
Spam protection improves with each software update. Go to Settings > Software update and select Download and install regularly to keep Smart Call and your carrier filters current. For more system performance tips, visit Performance & System Optimization.
